Delo Group to develop the logistics potential of the Omsk Region
Delo Group and the Omsk Region entered into a cooperation agreement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in order to develop the transport and logistics potential of the region.
The document was signed by Dmitry Pankov, Delo Group Management Company Director General, and Vitaly Khotsenko, the Acting Governor of the Omsk Region. The agreement was signed in the wake of the meeting between Vitaly Khotsenko and Sergey Shishkarev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group which took place in April 2023.
The document stipulates joint work of the parties to increase competitiveness of railroad container transportation in the region as well as the level of cargo containerization, primarily agricultural cargoes. Delo Group and the Government of the Omsk Region will also be studying the feasibility and prospects for terminal infrastructure projects in the region, including through the reconstruction of existing facilities and the construction of new logistics complexes as part of multimodal centers. The regional authorities will consider expanding the statutory incentives for regional investment projects to Delo Group companies.
The agreement provides for cooperation of Delo Group companies and the regional authorities with the main cargo shippers of the Omsk Region, development of multimodal services and improvement of their quality. In addition, the parties intend to work together to launch new and improve existing logistics products, expand the cargo base of the region and increase the volume of container shipments.
Delo Group and the Omsk Region also intend to develop and implement social practices aimed to improve the demographic situation in the region, exchange experiences and arrange internships for specialists.
"There are a number of large enterprises located in the Omsk region that provide high industrial potential of the region. Together with the regional government and other stakeholders we can offer new services and routes for container transportation, expand the transit potential of the region and thus give a new impetus to its development," - said Dmitry Pankov.
"Large logistics projects with investments of more than 25 billion rubles are being implemented in the Omsk Region, large trading companies and marketplaces are coming in, a strategically important for the import substitution policy special economic zone has been launched. It is important for the region to develop transit routes, the main direction of which will go to Asia with the global restructuring of logistics. I am sure that with Delo Group's capabilities our region will accelerate the economic turn to the East, about which our President is talking.
