Global Ports Tests the First Electric Reachstacker In Its Fleet

Global Ports (part of Delo Group) has strengthened the fleet of First Container Terminal (FCT, located in the Big Port of St. Petersburg) with a new electric Reachstacker. This is the first electric-powered container handler at the terminals of Delo Group.

The Reachstacker of the Chinese brand SANY has a lifting capacity of 45 tons. It is equipped with two electric engines with a total power of 330 kW and batteries with a capacity of 507 kW/h.

The electric Reachstacker operates significantly quieter than the diesel one and does not produce carbon dioxide or other fuel combustion products. The machine is equipped with a built-in video monitoring system, as well as a modern automatic fire detection and extinguishing system, which ensures comfort and safety of its operation.

Taking into account the new equipment, the FCT reach stacker fleet consists of 10 units: seven heavy-duty handlers with a lifting capacity of 45 tons, and three more machines can lift a load of 10 tons.

In spring 2025, the railway operator of Delo Group was the first in Russia to purchase hybrid electromechanical Reachstackers. They can operate both on diesel fuel and electric power. The company operates the machines at terminals in the regions to assess the impact of weather conditions on the new equipment operation in different climatic zones. < Back to list
