Global Ports, Russia’s leading operator of marine container terminals (part of Delo Group) has purchased three new Straddle Carriers for its Far Eastern terminal Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (VSC) in Primorsky Krai. The equipment was added to VSC's fleet as part of Global Ports’ programme to modernise its facilities and increase the terminal's throughput capacity at the port of Vostochny.The straddle carriers were produced for VSC by ZPMC, one of the world's leading manufacturers of port equipment. The machines have a load capacity of 40 tonnes and will be used for in-port transportation and stacking of containers.
With the new machines, there are now 27 straddle carries at VSC. In the coming months, eight tractor-trailer systems and two front loaders with lifting capacities of 16 and 32 tonnes will also be added to the fleet.
In 2023, VSC commissioned two Liebherr LHM 550 extra-heavy mobile harbour cranes, six RMGs and three RTGs, four reachstackers, including two units with increased load capacity, as part of its capacity modernisation programme. In addition, in 2022-2023 Global Ports relocated more than 25 units of port equipment from North-West terminals to VSC. < Back to list
