Holding Global Ports and Ruscon, a multimodal transport operator - both part of the Delo Group - have launched a service for labelling import goods under the state-run system named Chestniy Znak. This service is being implemented at Global Ports' inland terminal, Yanino Logistics Park, which is located in the Leningrad Region, approximately 30 km from the Big Port of St. Petersburg. The labelling process is carried out by TsOLLRU, a customs operator and division of Ruscon. Notably, the first batch, consisting of 27 forty-foot containers filled with automotive components, was labelled in June.
Given that most customs operators involved in labelling are situated in the Moscow region, this new service significantly reduces the logistics lead time during customs transit for cargo arriving to St. Petersburg by sea. The infrastructure at Yanino Logistics Park includes a railway front, a container depot, and over 7 hectares of open storage, along with 30,000 square meters of indoor warehouse space. This setup allows customers to return empty containers after labelling and subsequently ship the labelled cargo by road to distribution points.
The state-run digital labelling system named Chestniy Znak aims to ensure transparency and traceability of goods at all stages - from production to the end consumer. It protects manufacturers and importers from unfair competition and counterfeit goods, while also guaranteeing the authenticity of products to consumers by providing complete information about their origin, expiration dates, and movement history.
