Global Ports marine container terminal operator (part of Delo Group) has purchased twelve units of specialized port equipment for its maritime terminals in the North-Western region.
At the Petrolesport terminal (PLP), located in the Big Port of St. Petersburg, the equipment fleet has been enhanced with a new ultra-heavy reach stacker with a lifting capacity of 45 tons. This handling machine, manufactured by the Chinese company Sany, is equipped with outriggers that enable it to handle containers with a greater boom outreach, such as across railway tracks.
For the First Container Terminal and the Ust-Luga Container Terminal (FCT in the Big Port of St. Petersburg and ULCT, in the deepwater port of Ust-Luga), the company has acquired five and four port tractors, respectively, along with new semi-trailers. These machines are designed for intra-port transportation of containers. The tractors feature 4x4 all-wheel drive for high maneuverability and can transport a road train weighing up to 90 tons.
Global Ports is also committed to integrating electrically powered equipment into its port operations. For the Moby Dik terminal (located in Kronstadt on Kotlin Island, part of the Big Port of St. Petersburg) the holding has purchased two new 3.5-ton electric forklifts. These forklifts can operate for up to 8 hours without needing a recharge, and their battery charging time is approximately 90 minutes. They are equipped with a built-in video recording system that includes two external cameras and one cabin camera. Additionally, these electric machines have an intelligent safety system that detects obstacles in their path, providing an audible warning to the driver. When reversing, the system automatically reduces speed or assists with emergency braking. < Back to list
