In 2025, TransContainer has dispatched more than a hundred of long trains hauling 100 or more conventional cars - the largest number of own long trains dispatched since this technology start on the Russian railways network.TransContainer dispatched its 100th long train from Selyatino in Moscow region, the train arrived at Ugolnaya station in Vladivostok on the 20th of December. Perishable and consumer goods were delivered to Primorye region in 207 TEUs. The total number of long trains dispatched by the Company this year exceeded almost by two-thirds the results of the previous year when 61 such trains were dispatched. Having new handling spots including the Company’s terminals in Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk as well as increasing dispatch frequency the geography of the service has been widened.
The project has been realizing since 2024 jointly with RZD in an effort to increase the capacity of the most demanded infrastructure sections.
This technology has proved its effectiveness under conditions of the limited throughput on the Eastern polygon which used to affect delivery terms. Moreover, making trains longer up to 100 or even more conventional cars (having regular lengths of 71 conventional cars) allowed to accelerate turnover of fitting platforms, save rolling stock resources and reduce number of RZD locomotive crews while transporting large volumes of cargoes. In 2026 this technology is supposedly to be spread to other directions and number of long trains is likely to be increased. < Back to list
