Global Ports (part of Delo Group) and St. Petersburg’s Academy of Transport Technologies have partnered to train a new generation of vehicle mechanics for the port industry. The parties have signed an agreement to collaborate on training students specializing in "Maintenance and Repair of Vehicle Engines, Systems, and Components." The program combines theoretical education at the Academy with hands-on practical training at Global Ports’ facilities.
As part of the agreement, the partners will jointly develop the curriculum and training modules. Future mechanics will complete a 252-hour on-the-job training module at the Petrolesport Multifunctional Terminal (PLP, part of Global Ports), working directly with modern port equipment under the supervision of experienced company mentors. The program will culminate in a final demonstration exam held at the terminal.
The agreement is set for the 2025–2026 academic year and may be extended based on an annual review of student performance and program outcomes.
Commenting on the partnership, Global Ports HR Director Yakov Fedorenko emphasized its strategic importance:
"Blue-collar professionals make up 64% of our workforce at Global Ports. It is vital for us that vocational institutions prepare specialists with the precise skills required by today’s port industry. In technical fields especially, knowledge and standards evolve rapidly. We have a direct interest in ensuring that future specialists are trained on modern equipment and according to up-to-date programs—this partnership is a key step in achieving that goal." < Back to list
