Traditional Children’s Handball Tournament Supported by DeloPorts Held in Abrau-Dyurso

The Delo Sport sports complex in Abrau-Dyurso hosted the final stage of a children's handball tournament organized with the support of DeloPorts (the stevedoring holding of Delo Group in the Port of Novorossiysk) and the Chernomorochka handball club.

Around 370 young athletes aged 11-12 from 33 schools in Novorossiysk took part in the tournament. The eight strongest teams advanced to the finals, which were held at the Chernomorochka club’s facilities. As in previous years, players from the Novorossiysk handball club acted as mentors, sharing their knowledge and experience with the participants.

The team from School No. 11 took first place, followed by School No. 29 in second and School No. 34 in third. The winners received valuable prizes and commemorative gifts.

The tournament, now in its third year, aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and increase interest in handball among young people in Novorossiysk.

“The tournament demonstrated an exceptional level of interest in handball among schoolchildren in Novorossiysk. Both experienced players and beginners took part and showed excellent results. We sincerely thank Delo Group for their support, which made this significant sporting event possible,” said Oleg Frolov, General Director of the Chernomorochka handball club.

Supporting the development of sports is a key element of Delo Group’s social policy. Since 2015, Delo Group has been the sponsor of the Russian Handball Federation. The Group’s founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Sergey Shishkarev, serves as President of the RHF, is a member of the Executive Committee of the Russian Olympic Committee, and sits on the Presidential Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports.

Delo Group is committed to the development of the regions where it operates. With support from the Group, the Delo Sport complex was built in Abrau-Dyurso, providing a training base for handball and football clubs and serving as the home arena for the Novorossiysk women’s handball team Chernomorochka in the Olimpbet Super League.

The Chernomorochka professional handball club was founded in 2022 in Novorossiysk on the initiative of Sergey Shishkarev. In its debut season in the Higher League, the team earned promotion to the Super League, and in 2025 won bronze medals at the Russian Cup Final Four. < Back to list
