TransContainer plans to rebuild terminals in Siberia, Ural and other regions in 2023
PJSC TransContainer (part of Delo Group) plans to invest in reconstruction and modernization of its terminals in Siberia, Ural and a number of other regions of Russia in 2023.
The largest amount of investments - over RUB 272 million - is provided for the development project of a terminal at Kleshchikha station in Novosibirsk. The program envisages reconstruction of two container yards and construction of a fifth one. As a result, the storage warehouses capacity will increase by about 60%, up to 6.15 thousand TEUs, and the total capacity of the railway track front - by more than 40%, up to 235 conventional wagons.
In 2023 it is planned to finalize the design and carry out construction and installation works. One of the existing container yards will be equipped with a 45-ton crane to replace the two existing cranes. The new fifth yard will have two more cranes with a capacity of 45 tonnes each. The reconstruction will increase the stacking and handling capacity as well as capacity of the railway tracks front.
Upon completion of the project in the fourth quarter of 2024, the terminal capacity at Kleshchikha station will increase from the current 300,000 TEUs per year to almost 400,000 TEUs per year. Total capital expenditures from the start of terminal reconstruction in the second quarter of 2021 will amount to about RUB 1 billion.
In 2023, TransContainer will allocate more than RUB 180 million rubles for the comprehensive reconstruction of the terminal at Blochnaya station in Perm. The total amount of investments in this project from the end of 2021 will be about RUB 430 million rubles, the reconstruction is planned to be completed by 2025. By that time, the terminal's capacity will be more than double, from 45,000 to 110,000 TEUs per year. During the first stage in 2023, the design will be completed and construction and installation work will start.
Moreover, TransContainer has allocated funds for the reconstruction of container yard covers and reach-stacker passages at Rostov-Tovarny terminal, design of a new terminal at Sedelnikovo station near Ekaterinburg, as well as a number of other works in 2023.
Structural changes in the container market have accelerated the growth in demand for modern container terminals that ensure a high level of customer service at loading and unloading points and fast, rhythmic handling of block trains. The reconstruction of the operating terminal network carried out by the Company allows it to serve the needs of its customers better. < Back to list
