TransContainer together with Chinese partners launches express train from Guangzhou to Vorsino via Zabaikalsk
PJSC TransContainer (part of Delo Group), together with its Chinese partners, launched an expedited cargo delivery service from China to Russia along the Guangzhou (Pinghu station) - Zabaikalsk - Vorsino (Kaluga Region) route.
The first train carrying 110 TEUs left China on June 8. The train arrived in Zabaikalsk on June 11 and in less than a day was transshipped to 1520mm gauge. The train arrived at Vorsino station on June 22.
On behalf of TransContainer the service is rendered by its subsidiary in China - TransContainer Freight Forwarding (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.
The second and third trains of 110 TEUs each have already left Guangzhou for Vorsino. The trains will run on a regular basis once a week, which will allow the Russian importers to arrange warehousing and line logistics processes more efficiently.
The trains speeding up is the main task TransContainer has set for itself when launching this service. Besides, regular railway services make it possible to attract additional cargo volumes for handling by Russian and Chinese transport and logistics centers.
“TransContainer is expanding its portfolio of container delivery services from China. The new railway service implies faster cargo transportation for those customers for whom timing of cargo receipt matters. Delivery is possible within 10-15 days, saving 15 to 30 days compared with multimodal shipments via the ports of the Far East. Given the active growth of imports, the company aims to develop such services,” said Alexander Podylov, Vice President of TransContainer. < Back to list
