On May 14, 2021, in the Kaluga Region, on the territory of the Vorsino transport and logistics center (TLC), a new “West” container terminal was put into operation. Thus, the total throughput of the TLC will double to 350 thousand TEU. Its operator is Freight Village Kaluga Sever, 70% of which belongs to the Freight Village Ru group, 30% is owned by TransContainer, a part of Delo Group.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Kaluga Region Vladislav Shapsha, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Ermek Kosherbayev, Chief Executive Officer of Russian Post Maxim Akimov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group Sergey Shishkarev, Managing Director of the Freight Village RU Group Ruslan Zalivatsky and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Freight Village Kaluga North Petr Baskakov.
With the start of operation of the new container terminal "West", the capacity of one-time storage of the TLC "Vorsino" will increase to 9 thousand TEU. The implementation of a new stage in its development will increase the quality of service and the speed of handling container trains. Two modern gantry container cranes RMG Liebherr with a span of 32 meters and a lifting capacity of 45 tons will simultaneously handle two railway and one automobile front, storing 10 rows of containers, 3 containers in height.
“We believe in the container as a universal tare for the transportation of almost any cargo and in serious prospects for increasing the turnover of containerized cargo and cargo base. For our clients, this is both security, safety, and speed, which translates into business efficiency.
Since its foundation, Delo Group has been investing in the development and expansion of transport and warehouse infrastructure, which helps us to anticipate market behavior and keep up with the times and demand. The Vorsino terminal is an important link in the logistics of TransContainer, the rise in its throughput will increase the volume and efficiency of cargo handling, as well as the attractiveness of our services for customers”, said Sergey Shishkarev.
“Since the start of the Freight Village project in 2010, the Freight Village RU Group has invested almost 7.5 billion rubles. Following market trends, we are constantly expanding the range of services and creating the appropriate infrastructure for specific customer needs. The commissioning of additional capacities will double the terminal's processing capacity, reduce the processing time for container trains and accelerate the turnover of rolling stock”, Ruslan Zalivatsky emphasized.
Today TLC "Vorsino" is one of the TOP-3 terminals for handling container cargo in the Moscow transport hub. In 2020, it processed 143 thousand TEU. The time-slotting system introduced in 2019 and refined in 2020 contributes to the prompt and most accurate planning of the work of all participants in the transportation process.
Excluding correspondence by e-mail and on paper, the system allows you to place an application, providing automatic approval of the request with the warehouse, security service and operational services. The terminal uses advanced technologies for handling container cargo, as well as the latest technology - 7 reachstackers and 4 terminal tractors work around the clock.
