The session, which was attended by Acting First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov, regional leaders and business representatives, addressed, among other things, the implementation of the latest decrees signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin immediately after his inauguration. Sergey Shishkaryov drew attention to the provisions related to a significant increase in non-resource non-energy exports by 2030.
"The goals and objectives set by the president in yesterday's decree state that non-resource exports should increase by two-thirds. A critical consequence of this is that an increase in non-resource exports should lead to a two- or threefold increase in containerization," he said and proposed the creation of the Union of Container Operators of Russia (UCOR), which would include both the carriers and entities that use their services.
Sergey Shishkaryov noted that Russia can play a more prominent role in global logistics, providing for the needs of foreign trade as well as transit.
One of the most promising directions, Sergey Shishkaryov pointed out, is the North-South international transportation corridor, which will give Russia access to the Indian Ocean and simultaneously play a major geopolitical and geo-economic role. The potential cargo flow through the corridor may reach up to 100 million tons, unloading the Vostochny polygon.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group called for the construction of logistics facilities abroad - in particular, in Sri Lanka and Cuba. < Back to list
