On 9 October 2022, multimodal operator RUSCON (part of the Delo Group), delivered a container cargo along the Northern Sea Route (NSR). The transportation was provided using the nuclear-powered lighter carrier “Sevmorput”.
The vessel departed from St Petersburg with an estimated transit time of 20 days to the port of Vostochny. Then the cargo will be shipped from St Petersburg to Qingdao, China.
Sergey Berezkin, President of RUSCON, noted: “The NSR development is particularly significant for the Group, due to its role for Russian logistics in the current economic conditions. Our business partner, Rosatom State Corporation, acted as the main operator of this corridor.
This test shipment will give us experience of such dispatches, providing us with the necessary logistical arrangements for further work on this difficult route”.
